Reason for desiring golden retriever
Many reasons can be attributed to ones desire to attain a golden retriever as a pet. Few of them are mentioned below.
Golden retrievers are very good looking dogs.
They are excellent with children and adults and good with other animals as well. They make it possible to have more than one pet in a family
They are very loyal and will go to least extent for the happiness of their owner.
These are very intelligent and are easy to train. They have excellence obedience and disciplines.
However, before giving into the obvious love for the golden retrievers, one must always consider a few elements
1) Enough space
A golden retriever is a large breed of dog and approximately twenty-five inches tall. With tail wagging, they might appear even bigger. It is necessary that you have enough room for golden retriever at your home. As they will be following you around the home, they will be in your way all the time if there is not enough space, and this could be a bigger problem. In case one does not have enough space then opting for the golden retriever is not the good idea, one should go for smaller breeds.
2) Huge yard
A huge yard is not a necessity for a golden. However, it is really good because they never get enough exercise. It is important that the golden retriever gets at least a one and half hour of exercise.
3) Time to exercise
As previously mentioned the golden retriever needs at least one ad half hour of the exercise in a day. However, it should be kept in mind that the golden retriever does not exercise on its own. One needs to be continuously engaged with them like making it fetch, run, etc. If you leave them alone, they will just t sit and wait till they reunion with the family. Before opting for golden retriever one must consider devoting 1.5 hours of their time to the golden retriever in all circumstances whether they had a bad day at work. It requires commitment. If you are unable to fulfill it, your golden retriever will fill up extra bottled up energy, leading them to exert around the house like chewing.
4) Enough finances
Before adopting a golden retriever, one must consider that they are financially stable to fulfill all the expenses of a golden retriever. These include licensing and microchipping, leashes, crate or dog bed, nutritious food, grooming products, chewing toys, vet expenses and pet insurances and trainers and behaviorists. In case, one is already hand to mouth; he should not consider golden retriever as its dog.
